after the recent launch of our new double DIN planner format for the US and Canada, we’ve already received many submissions by our users in the new calendar format. Thank you! It’s great to see that there’s so much interest to try new designs.

You are welcome to use your existing images – be it photos, illustrations or AI-generated work – but please bear in mind that wall calendars in the US can be quite different to European ones. Just copying projects doesn’t work therefore and market specifics need to be considered. We have put together some design tips to help you create wall calendars that meet the taste across the pond.

Design tips for the US market

1. Bold typography
  • Work with striking designs for your title: Use strong fonts and short headlines in all caps. Your wall calendar title should stand out and use eye-catching typography!  
  • Create visual impact through contrasts: Use colours to create a strong contrast between copy and background, which will also ensure good legibility in thumbnails that are used online to display your product. You can also create contrast by playing with different font sizes.
  • Integrate visual adornments: Playful elements such as symbols or labels are very
    popular on US wall calendar covers. Don’t be too minimalist!
2. Eye-catching pages (and page elements)
  • Asymmetrical layouts: The covers of wall calendars sold in North American tend to have dynamic layouts, with little white space and the entire page filled with the respective motifs.
  • Strong, bright colours: Use strong colours to attract attention.
  • Modern designs: North American layouts often strive to look modern and trendy instead of classic.
