In the latter part of 2024, the sale season for 2025 wall calendars got off to a slightly slower start compared to the previous year due to generally muted consumer spending and the late Black Friday. Fortunately, however, global sales picked up significantly towards the end of November and throughout December. January as well has been promising so far – and there are still a few weeks left until wall calendar purchases will start fizzling out for this year.

At the same time, we are already getting ready for our 2026 edition. In this newsletter, you’ll find out how we update your calendars for republishing with 2026 dates. Plus, we have designed new cover templates for your use!

Calendar grid update for 2026 edition

The behind-the-scenes work for our 2026 edition has already begun. Published wall calendars that have proven to sell will automatically be updated with 2026 dates and listed with online sales platforms in due course later this year. 2025 wall calendars are still online and can be ordered until summer.

Things to know for the 2026 update:

• New projects: When you start designing a new project, your calendar will automatically have 2026 dates.
• Projects in progress: Projects that you have started working on last year but not yet submitted to the jury can be found in your account under “project in progress”. Their calendar grid has automatically been updated to show 2026 dates.
• “Resting period” until 15 February 2025: For all your published projects, a “resting period” applies during which you cannot make any changes to the respective calendars. Even after this period ends on 15 February, please do not try and change calendar dates manually to 2026: This update will automatically be performed by Calvendo.

Please note:

If the following applies, we won’t be able to automatically update your calendar dates:

• You have used your own calendar grids (i.e. not the ones provides in the system) or have integrated the year in the cover image.
• You have not activated the “flexible calendar grid” option in your project settings.

Be inspired by new cover templates for square calendars

Together with his creative team, our art director has designed new cover templates for our square wall calendar format. These have now been integrated into the CALVENDO editing tool and are ready for your new calendar designs.

The layouts and fonts of the templates reflect global design trends and provide diverse options for different topics and styles. You can find a drop-down menu for your selection in “TEMPLATES” (top right in our layout editing tool). Check it out now and find a template that suits your new project!
